Position Basic Purpose:

• Run and coordinate all aspects of a new customer project from initial customer engagement to delivery of first production units and hand-off to operations.

Main Accountabilities:

1. Participates in analyzing and appraising the technical specifications.
2. Supports technical and commercial assessment and develops project timeline and plans.
3. Plans development stages and allocates resources accordingly. Is accountable for the respect of the product cost and development budget
4. Utilizing software tools, plan schedules and allocate actions as needed.
5. Coordinates activities between Engineering (Design Engineer, Application Engineer, Process Engineer), Estimating, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, etc.
6. Identifies potential risks to delivery schedule, product performances, product costs and development budget and develops plans to mitigate risks.
7. Oversees contract reviews process.
8. Creates and updates the overall development file and project schedule.
9. Reports to Management on progress and particular issues.
10. Ensures deadline are met.
11. Oversees project close-out and transfers all lessons learned to operations. Capitalizes return on experience.

Requested Knowledge, Competencies and Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of contract manufacturing requirements and planning.
• Negotiation: Masters the steps and technics of the negotiation process, can negotiate skillfully with both internal and external stakeholders, winning concessions without damaging relationships (has a good sense of timing, can be both direct and forceful as well as diplomatic).
• Process knowledge: Understands manufacturing processes and assembly flow to effectively drive prototype and first production parts through to completion.

• Equipment/technology process: Understands technologies, processes, methodologies and associated equipment to achieve objectives.

To meet business needs, is able to manage all steps of either a single project or a portfolio of projects with interdependencies. Mobilizes and animates the necessary resources for the project purpose.
